PPL Performer Board Election Statement

My unique perspective, experiences and qualifications make me a valuable resource, one that will positively serve the PPL Board and performer members. I am a singer, songwriter, performer and have worked in the music business for over a decade. I currently work at Warner Music UK, and previously at PPL in their member services team which has given me a strong understanding of the organisation as a whole. I am also on the FAC BEAT Board, a younger advisory Board to the FAC which has provided a new generation of artists and performers a voice.

This year I have been training as a Life & Success Coach and am now a Neuro Linguistic Programming, Emotional Freedom Techniques, TIME Techniques and Hypnotherapy Practitioner and have launched my company Chord Commerce. I have done this specifically to further serve and empower the creative community.

I am passionate about nurturing and educating music creatives and about developing a more transparent and fair industry, as well as looking at how new technologies can help achieve this. I am a self-proclaimed music data enthusiast and have a strong understanding of why we need more robust databases and streamlined processes in place.

We need organisations like PPL to continue to work on staying accessible to performers and continue to strive for transparency and efficiency, especially as Neighbouring Rights have become such an important part of a performer’s income stream. I am an advocate amongst my peers about engaging with PPL and other CMO’s to ensure they maximise their opportunities to earn what is owed.

We, as a collective industry have major challenges to overcome to ensure that we build a sustainable landscape that works for everybody. We need to empower and safeguard all music makers, ensuring they survive this pandemic and anything else that may impact our industry in the future.

Now more than ever we need strong and knowledgeable voices representing performers rights and ensuring they are heard. I’d be delighted if you could vote for me in the upcoming election.

Online voting is open from Monday 26 October, with the voting deadline scheduled for Monday 23 November at 4pm.  Details of how to vote will be sent out to voting performers shortly. The results will then be announced at the APM on 25 November.

CHECK YOUR EMAILS AND PLEASE VOTE FOR ME !!
